Reclaiming the term Master Jis—, a moniker typically for male master tailors—, MasterG is a one-year intensive garment skills training, certification, and employment program geared towards women. The curriculum condenses the traditional decades-long apprenticeship model and applies the skills learned to fit industry practices. MasterG helps advance women’s careers while breaking societal and cultural gender barriers. This localized program helps women become MasterGs in their own right, while earning a living.
